A Honiton bobbin is a Honiton bobbin is a Honiton bobbin - right? WRONG!
There are Honiton bobbins such as can be bought in bulk from traders who purchase them by the thousands - turned on copy lathes out of nice birch. They are perfectly useable, and have short necks and nicely rounded ends...

...and then there are my individually made hardwood Honiton bobbins. Finely turned with super-long necks (18-22mm), a finish that will astound you and a point to watch out for - the essential aid in sewing. These bobbins slip through the finest of threads without catching, allowing quick work and a very satisfactory lace making experience.

Of course - fine turning and good finishing come at a price - time. And time equals money, so don't expect them to be cheap.

You may, however, expect them to be perfect and to last a long time.
